Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

This policy explains what information Skomante collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short, because we collect very little.

Who we are

Skomante is a small ceramics studio. For the purposes of data protection law, the studio is the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of this policy.

What we collect

When you write to us through the contact form on the home page, we collect your first name, your email address, and the message you write.

When you enquire about a particular piece, we also ask for your last name and phone number and, so the piece can be sent to you, a delivery address or the parcel locker you choose; a message is optional. We record which piece you asked about, so we can answer you in context.

When you buy a piece directly, we collect the first and last name, email address, and phone number you enter at checkout, and the delivery details needed to ship it — the parcel locker you choose, or the street address, city, and postcode for courier delivery. We keep a record of the order: the piece, its price and the delivery charge, the language you used on the site, the payment status and reference, the parcel's tracking number, and the invoice issued for the sale. We do not collect or store your card or bank details: those are entered on our payment provider's own secure pages, and only the outcome of the payment and its reference come back to us.

That is the only personal information this site asks for. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and browsing the site sets no cookies that identify you.

How we use it

We use the details from your enquiry to reply to you and, if your enquiry leads to an order, to arrange your piece's delivery — for example by contacting you by phone or email and giving our delivery provider the details needed to ship it to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and in taking steps at your request before and in the performance of any order.

When you buy a piece directly, we use your details to process the order: to take payment through our payment provider, to register your parcel with the carrier, to email you an order confirmation with the parcel's tracking number and your invoice attached, to handle any return or refund, and to keep the order and accounting records the law requires. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you and, for the records we must keep, our legal obligations.

We do not use your information for marketing, and we never sell it.

Who handles it for us

Enquiries, orders, and invoices are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase. Emails are sent through the email service Resend: a notice to the studio about each new enquiry or order and, when you buy a piece, your order confirmation and invoice. These providers process the data only to run those services on our behalf, under their own security and data-protection commitments. Our website hosting provider also processes the technical request data (such as your IP address) needed to serve the page to you.

When you buy a piece directly, your payment is processed by Montonio, our payment provider, which handles the card or bank transaction on its own systems under its own privacy terms; we receive only confirmation of the payment and a reference, and any refund is returned through Montonio too. To ship your piece, we pass your name, email address, phone number, and the parcel locker or delivery address to Montonio's shipping service and to the carrier that delivers the parcel (currently Omniva), who use them only to deliver your piece and to keep you informed about its delivery.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. When they are no longer needed, we delete them. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

If you start a checkout but do not complete the payment, the unpaid order is deleted after a short period.

We keep records of completed orders — including the invoice we issue for each sale — for as long as accounting and tax law requires us to, which may be longer than we keep an enquiry.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to restrict or object to how we use it. To make a request, just email us.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija) in Lithuania.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the date above.
